Editorial policy
Modern County Journal aims to make county geography and identity clear without turning a partial view into a complete story. We distinguish description from interpretation and correct the record when we find an error.
Accuracy and clarity
We check names, definitions and other factual claims against relevant material before publication, and make the basis of a claim clear where context matters. Articles should distinguish a mapped boundary from a physical feature, and a documented account from an interpretation. We do not invent facts to fill gaps.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to satisfy a partner or contributor. If a published detail appears wrong, use the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or partner material is labelled plainly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Partnerships do not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial control. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; these are identified as such where they appear, and are not presented as documentary images.
